Monika Metykova

Dr. Monika Metykova works as senior lecturer in media, communications and journalism studies at the University of Sussex, UK. Prior to joining Sussex she held positions at Goldsmiths and Northumbria University. She is also a visiting fellow at Masaryk University, Czech Republic. She has a long-term research interest in media and democracy, particularly in the so-called new democracies of East/Central Europe. Her latest research has focused on journalists' work and work conditions and has been published in Journalism and Journal of Applied Journalism and Media Studies. She is the author of Diversity and the Media.
